AETHER THEORY on his website http://www.aspden.org/index.html

Extracts from his homepage:

# Hello….My Name is HAROLD ASPDEN and I live in SOUTHAMPTON, HAMPSHIRE, ENGLAND.

# Welcome to my Physics WEB SITE

I am a RETIRED CORPORATE PATENT DIRECTOR having a long-standing interest in fundamental physics, the subject of many papers of published record. My English university background is: Manchester (B.Sc., 1945-1948), Cambridge (Ph.D., 1950-1953) and Southampton (Visiting Senior Research Fellow, 1983-1992).

This Web page is headed ‘Physics with Aspden’ because in 1969 I published a book entitled ‘Physics without Einstein’. I sought then, and still seek now, to show how much further we can progress if we follow a course not depending upon Einstein’s philosophy.

The book left little impression on the scientific community, probably owing to its title. However, with the passage of time its 2,000 copies were all sold long ago. It is now out-of-print and so I have included a copy of that work and some of my other books and many of my papers as PDF files….

# In developing this web site I have been compiling my concluding works, which revise and build on the theme of ‘Physics without Einstein’. They comprise in book format a manuscript entitled ‘The Physics of Creation’ which is included in these web pages and a book entitled ‘Creation: The Physical Truth’, the latter being a printed work which will be available from the publishers in the summer of 2006. The latter will not be included in these web pages. They provide the scientific basis for something I believe has importance in the quest to solve our impending energy problems as oil and gas reserves are exhausted.

A brief outline of this is the subject of my associated web site http://www.energyscience.org.uk/update.html and, if the reader has not already read the message there presented on the update page, it warrants a preliminary visit.

The first ‘draft edition’ of ‘The Physics of Creation’ was completed on 28th March 2003 and was duly recorded in these Web pages. Its revised version was completed on 23rd October 2003 and replaced that first draft version. In it you will discover some of the truths of physical science that have eluded mention in standard textbooks on physics. I believe there are two intermeshing worlds, both having three space dimensions, the material world that we can see and the unseen ghost-like underworld that we can sense by phenomena which the orthodox physicist cannot explain, notably gravitation.

My subject is ‘Creation’ and the related quest of ‘Unification’, that Holy Grail of the theoretical physicist, which can only be found by those willing to wander in the darkness, probing the fluid-crystal-like structure of the aether, the oscillatory jitter of which accounts for its quantum electrodynamic properties and, arising from its need for dynamic balance, the force of gravitation.

With the dawn of the Einstein Year: 2005, I recorded an easily readable introductory work entitled ‘Physics without Einstein: A Centenary Review’, in which I show why Einstein’s Theory of Relativity does not warrant the praise it has received, it having blocked the way forward for better understanding of matter creation and gravitation. Sadly, however, criticism of Einstein theory was not a welcome subject during 2005, especially as Einstein was being billed as some kind of champion to be admired by the declining population of young physics students. Einstein’s theory is not a topic that can interest potential students, given that it has now existed for 100 years and has in no way enlightened us as to the physical link between gravitation and electrical phenomena.

We still lack a unified field theory based on Einstein doctrine, but we have such a theory with other foundation as these web pages show.

So, having now concluded my own efforts in this quest of unification, I can but now hope to attract feedback which can assist in onward clarification and aid the learning process of those who follow me in building further on the theory presented. I request such feedback and expect it will guide me in any further revision of this web site concerning the physics of ‘Creation’ and, by its promulgation, hope that it will enhance the education of physics students everywhere.

## DR. ASPDEN’S BOOKS AND ENERGY SCIENCE REPORTS http://www.aspden.org/books/Booklist.html

Where the book title is listed below in colour it provides a link to the full or partial text of the work. Otherwise, please note that it will take the author a liitle while longer before these web pages are updated to provide full access to all of the titles, this date being June 30, 2003.

1960: The Theory of Gravitation
This is a printed booklet which aimed to put on record the basic principles of the author’s theory as it had developed by the end of 1959. It marked a transition in the author’s career from a professional position with a major electrical manufacturer to a senior management position with IBM.

1966: The Theory of Gravitation (2nd. Edition)
This work is a photo reproduction of typescript written to update progress on the above theory since 1960.

1969: Physics without Einstein http://www.aspden.org/books/Pwe/Pwebook.html
This was a major work of 224 pages, printed in hardback and softback editions. Owing to its controversial nature and anticipated hostility of the scientific community it was not offered for publication by a regular publisher, but was published as a private venture by the author under the name Sabberton Publications, ‘Sabberton’ being the maiden name of the author’s wife.

1972: Modern Aether Science http://www.aspden.org/books/mas/masbook.html
This 165 page work was printed also in hardback and softback cover form. It was written to meet a request from readers of ‘Physics without Einstein’ who wanted to see a non-mathematical treatment of the subject. This book was then the subject of a sarcastic review by a rival author in the journal ‘Nature’ (239, p. 235, September 22, 1972): “Dr. Aspden is one of a group of unorthodox writers who, bewildered by the abstract but precise world of mathematical physics, escapes into a fairyland of outmoded physical description”.

1975: Gravitation
This was a shorter printed work in hardback and softback cover form, which concentrated on the progress of the author’s gravitational theory to incorporate advances to the 1975 period, by which time the theory was evolving to the stage where a breakthrough discovery was made concerning proton creation.

1980: Physics Unified http://www.aspden.org/books/Pu/Contents.html
It was here that the theory could be presented in a consolidated form, linking gravitation and fundamental particle creation, and was ready to branch out in diverse directions trespassing deeply into the territory of quantum electrodynamics. This book is in a sense a second edition of ‘Physics without Einstein’. It has 206 pages and was published in hardback and softback covers.

1996: Aether Science Papers http://www.aspden.org/books/Asp/0000.htm
Between 1980 and 1996 the author found that scientific periodicals were more willing to accept his papers for publication and took early retirement from IBM in 1983 expressly to become a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at Southampton University in the author’s hometown in England. In 1996 it was decided to publish in laminated covers this A4 size photo-reproduction of 14 of these papers together with a 69 page introductory text, which includes references to 106 published scientific papers by the author.

1994-1997: Energy Science Reports http://www.aspden.org/reports/reportlist.htm
These are ten research reports published between 1994 and 1997 which were intended to stir interest in the research theme discussed. It is now intended to consolidate further effort on the key technological issue of tapping aether energy in one future publication entitled ‘Energy Science’, which will feature in due course on this website.

The title of this Discourse is a phrase I used in an item of correspondence published in the Proceedings of the IEE in U.K. in 1958. See http://www.energyscience.org.uk/papers/bib/1958a.htm .

# DISCOURSE NO. 7: NUCLEAR FUSION: HOT AND COLD, Copyright © Harold Aspden, 2001, http://www.energyscience.org.uk/ov/ov007.htm
Although our scientific fraternity believes that the sun derives its power from the process of nuclear fusion and many billions of dollars have been spent trying to tame the process here on Earth in fusion reactors, the story to date is one of failure. The time has come when we should at least consider what heresy is telling us, namely that maybe the sun’s energy is not sustained by thermonuclear reactions which demand temperatures of 100,000,000 or so degrees.
